By now you should be progressing along with the completion of your researched essays. I want you to keep working on those and bring them to class with you so that you have them for the end of the class writing sessions we will be doing as well as for references to guide you through this week’s lectures.

Last Week In Review

Our focus last week was on the writing of your introduction and conclusion and the use of MLA in your essay. You need to pay very close attention to the material we did in class. Not only will the introduction and conclusion fully round out the essay you’re writing, but they will also cue your reader to what is being argued in your essay and remind them of how you have argued these points. As for MLA. Since we have now sent two full days on this in class, you need to make sure that you are prepared to double check this in your essay, but also make sure that you are prepared to use this formatting in your final exam.
Next Week

Your Researched essay is due on Thursday. You need to be working on this so that you can be ready to turn it in on Thursday. We will spend our class time this week preparing to finish this essay so that you are prepared to turn it in by the due date.

Tuesday

We will have an in-class writing worshop. Bring your essay with you to work on in class and make sure that if you have any questions. Remember that you need to show up with six complete pages in order for me to consider extending the deadline. I will only discuss extension if 2/3 of the class has their six pages. I want this period to be productive for you, so make sure to come prepared to write.

There will be a specific class participation grade for this class period, so make certain that you participate

Thursday

Class will not meet today so that you can attend Honors Convocation. Arrangements will be made for essay submission during Tuesday’s class and I will post them separate to this post.
