WordPress Posting Tutorial

Below are the steps to posting a blog from start to finish when using WordPress. Post any questions below.

1) Log into WordPress. (Between this step and the next you may need to choose your blog, I’m not sure if this applies if you only have one blog)

2) You should now be looking at your “Dashboard.” If you look just below your blog’s name, you should see a toolbar that has the word “Write” on it. Click that.

3)Immediately the text box in which you are to type your blog appears. Make sure you give your blog a title and then all you need to do is start writing.

4) When you are done, make certain that you hit the “Publish” button, then view your site to make sure the new post has appeared. If for some reason the post does not appear, you probably need to change the status of the post. To do so, follow these simple steps:

a)When looking at your site, you’ll want to click on “My Dashboard,” select your blog, and then select the “Manage” button. This will bring up a list of your posts.

b)Look to see if your blog is listed on the page. (It will either be in blue across the top or listed in the general list that comprises the page).

c) Click the link to the post (or click the “edit” button) and when the post loads, scroll down the right side unil you see a blue box marked “Post Status”

d) Click the + on the right side of the “Post Status” box and then make certain that the dot next to “Publish” is selected. When you finish this, post select Publish at the bottom of your screen. (If publish is not available, click save). Once again, return to your homepage and see if the page has published.
